How To Improve Curb Appeal

If you considering putting your house up for sale, it is important to understand that the outside of your house is the first thing that potential buyers will look at.

There is few things to do to make sure your home won’t take long to sell, and will have the appeal that all home buyers are looking for. Think about “staging” your home, or in other words, setting the scene for immediate buyer interest in your property.

Outside Is As Important As The Inside Of Your Home
To make sure that you are not missing out on any opportunity, you need to look at both the outside and the inside of your home. Here are some advice on how to improve curb appeal to and get more offers from serious buyers.

Look Through The Potential Buyer’s Lenses
Stand on the street to see what clients see when driving up to your house. Keep in mind that any negative impressions they get outside the house (landscaping not maintained or non-existent, peeling paint, etc.) is just going to make them think that the house itself has not been well taken care of.

So even if you have spent the time and money to fix up the interior, it would all be wasted if the clients get a bad first impression as they drive up to the house.

Outside Your Front Door
Close the door; then stand on the stoop and look around for a few minutes. What you see is what the potential buyers will see. Is there are dead plants, old Halloween decorations in the middle of January, cobwebs? If so, and if there is anything that might give potential buyers a bad impression, you might want to repair, replace, or remove.

Make sure anyone is coming to look at your house, they would have a good first impression!
It’s definitely worth it to take some time and clean it up. Want to go a step further? Try a new coat of paint or some new furniture or accessories.

The Backyard
While that might not be part of the potential buyers’ first impression experience, you still should make sure it’s in the best condition possible. Pull up weeds, water plants, do some sweeping (if that’s applicable in your case) and maybe even purchase new furniture or accessories (plant pots, birdhouses, etc.) You don’t have to break the bank on those items, just find something good to look at, and relatively stable.

When You Purchased The Property
Think of what attracted you to the property in the first place. Was there something in particular that you liked, if so, try to recreate that.

Ask yourself this question, If you in the market to buy another home in your neighborhood, and your own home is available, would you buy it? If not, why not? What changes would you like to see made, and make those changes if you can.

Final words:

How To Improve Curb Appeal?  In most cases, staging your house for sale is an investment. Think of the time would take on the market if you put your house on the market, and didn’t get an offer. Think of the extra money that you would get if the exterior is painted VS has dead paint, and so on.
When people look at homes first thing they see is the outside, and for most people, they are looking for reasons to buy your house. Make it easy for them.

When the first thing they see is an overgrown weed and dead paint, they will have the impression that the house is not been taking care of, regardless of the effort, time, or money you have spent.

They will enter the house looking for other things that are not been taking care of, and they start looking for negative instead of positive signs. On the other hand, if what they saw outside the house is pleasing, they will enter the house looking for positive signs.

They already know that you take care of your property, and they want to find the reason to make an offer. Make it easy for them. These days people look for 100s of homes online and tour a few. So, if someone is touring your home, they are interested in your home.
